CALL FOR PLAYWRIGHTS
Lakeshore Players' 4th Annual Ten-Minute Playwrighting Contest

Lakeshore Players Theatre is accepting submissions for 10-minute plays with the winners to be performed at our 4th Annual Festival June 5-8, 2008.

Plays will be accepted through November 5.

High School Playwrights Encouraged to Submit a Play
One of the 8-10 plays chosen for performance will be the work of a high school playwright.  High school playwrights must have a letter from a teacher or school administrator, written on school letterhead, verifying that the play was written during high school.

Please read the following guidelines carefully, updated for this year

• The play must run ten-minutes or less.  No exceptions.
• The play must have 5 or fewer characters.
• You may submit only one play so send us your best!
• The play must have simple technical requirements There won't be a set — a few furniture pieces and a few props only — we only have about one minute in between plays to change scenes
• Submitting your play to our contest grants Lakeshore Players the right to produce your play in our annual festival and photograph and/or videotape it for archival purposes if it is chosen as a winner.
• The play should be in a "play format" making it easy for the readers.
• The play must be unpublished at the time of submission to our contest.
• The play must un-produced at the time of submission to our contest. Staged readings are not counted as "produced."

Mail TWO (2) copies of your play via postal mail only — no plays will be accepted via e-mail:        

1. One copy of play should have ALL contact information play title, your name, your address, your phone number and your email address
2. One copy of play should have NO contact information this is for judging purposes
3. Mail copies to:  Lakeshore Players Outreach Committee 4820 Stewart Ave White Bear Lake, MN  55110
4. Your play must be received by Lakeshore Players no later than November 5, 2007 to be eligible.
5. Plays will not be returned to you.

Winners

Plays chosen for production in our festival) will receive $10 per Lakeshore performance of the play, a copy of the program from the festival, and a copy of the photo CD within 90 days of the festival weekend.

• Semi-finalists for the Festival will be announced in January, 2008
• Finalists will be announced in March, 2008
• Winners will be announced in April, 2008
