It’s evolution vs. creationism in this dramatization of the infamous 1925 Scopes “Monkey” Trial. Written in 1955 as a means to discuss the then-contemporary McCarthy trials, playwright Lawrence said: “It’s not about science versus religion. It’s about the right to think.” The 1960 movie version starred Spencer Tracy.

One of the greatest plays of the 20th Century, the prosecutor, a leading Christian scholar and former Presidential candidate, opposes attorney Henry Drummond, a defender of free thought and the leading legal mind of his day. Tensions rise as the whole town, and the entire world, watch this precedent-setting social battle play out.

Tickets: $20 Regular, $18 Senior/Student
