The year is 1183, and shrewd King Henry II and his cunning wife Eleanor of Aquitaine engage in a battle of wits to decide which son will inherit the throne. The 1968 film version won three Academy Awards including best actress for Katharine Hepburn and best screenplay for James Goldman’s adaptation of his 1966 play.
