When a handsome drifter arrives in a small town on the morning of the Labor Day picnic, he unwittingly becomes a catalyst for change as passions are ignited. In Picnic, playwright William Inge explores small town life and loneliness. Picnic won the 1953 Pulitzer Prize and was made into a film starring William Holden and Kim Novak.
